I was the Background Painter for Fan Sissoko's beautiful short film, Sundruð (Hold It Together).
Much of the film's interior is inspired by Vesturbæjarlaug, one of my favorite local pools in Reykjavík. I used to spend hours after work here and painting on this project gave me a reason to pay more attention to the space.
"On her weekly trips to the swimming pool, Neema, a young immigrant to Iceland, stands out so much that she melts into a puddle. As she strives to stay solid, she realises that she is not the only one struggling with loneliness and grief."
