I created the backgrounds for this Spongebob short!
It was my first time working in this style. For research, I watched Fleischer cartoons and found great Betty Boop environments to reference. I really enjoyed figuring out this painting process. I noticed lot of the backgrounds had a soft spotlight effect on the center. Lines were blended and organic, and everything had a watercolor-like finish.
